Unfortunately, we do not provide Estonian airspace information on an interactive chart.

Is the information in the AIP final?

Always consult NOTAM and AIP Supplements for the latest information.

Why does eAIP not contain all AIP Supplements and Aeronautical Information Circulars published?

AIP Supplements and Aeronautical Information Circulars, which were not published with an AIRAC Amendment are first available in PDF-format on aim.eans.ee web page and may not be included on DVD or in eAIP at all.
All AIP Supplements and Aeronautical Information Circulars that are published with an AIRAC Amendment are included in the eAIP and on aim.eans.ee.

Why do I need to read AIP Supplements?

AIP contains permanent aeronautical information but for temporary changes, you need to consult NOTAMs and AIP Supplements (NOTAMs with long text and charts/pictures).

Since the AIP is subject to frequent change, provisions exist for its continual updating. In addition, changes of a temporary nature affecting the contents of an AIP are often required to cater for unexpected circumstances or, in some cases, planned modifications to a service/facility. For these temporary changes, you need to consult NOTAMs and AIP Supplements (NOTAMs with long text and charts/pictures).

What is the Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC )?

The Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC) is a notice containing information that does not qualify for the origination of a NOTAM or inclusion in the AIP, but which relates to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.

What is the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP)?

The Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) is a publication issued by or with the authority of a State and containing aeronautical information of a lasting character essential to air navigation.

What is the AIP Amendment (AMDT)?

With the AIP Amendment (AMDT), permanent changes to the information contained in the AIP are published.

What is the AIP Supplement (SUP)?

AIP Supplement (SUP) is a temporary amendment containing temporary changes of long duration (three months and longer) or information of short duration, which consists of extensive text and/or graphics, supplementing the permanent information contained in the AIP.

What does an acronym AIRAC stand for?

The acronym AIRAC (aeronautical information regulation and control) signifies a system aimed at an advance notification, based on common effective dates, of circumstances that necessitate significant changes in operating practices.

Where can I find valid AIP Supplements?

All the valid AIP Supplements are available on the AIP SUP page of Aeronautical Information Products.

Where can I find the valid Aeronautical Information Circulars?

All the valid Aeronautical Information Circulars are available on the AIC page of Aeronautical Information Products.

What is the difference between AIP and eAIP?

eAIP is the electronic version of AIP. The eAIP shall include files that allow for the printing of AIP.

In what format is the eAIP published?

The AIP of Estonia is available only in electronic form as HTML and PDF format and is published in Estonian and in English.

What is the VFR Information Guide?

The VFR Information Guide includes relevant information and restrictions for the use of VFR aerodromes.

Where can I purchase the Estonian Visual Flight (VFR) Chart   (Aeronautical Chart – ICAO 1:500 000)?

Charts can be purchased for 15 euros (card payment) from the Estonian Transport Administration. Further information from https://www.transpordiamet.ee.

Is it possible to download the Estonian VFR Chart for free? In what format?

Yes, the chart can be downloaded for free in PDF format from aim.eans.ee webpage.

Why does the VFR chart have such a large file volume?

A large amount of information on the chart causes a large volume of the VFR chart. We have reduced the file size to such a level that we can assure the quality of the chart and legibility for the user.

The VFR chart opens up intermittently on a regular computer and sometimes is unable to display all the layers.

Opening the chart directly in a browser may significantly slow down the chart display.

It is advisable to download the VFR chart and use a PDF reader (e.g. the  AcrobatReader) for better/faster chart use.

Is the VFR chart available in the GeoTIFF format?

Currently, the VFR chart is not available in the GeoTIFF format.

How can I give feedback?

To provide feedback you can use the button "Submit feedback" on the right side of the web page. If you want to receive a response to your feedback, make sure to include an e-mail address. The feedback topic box is automatically filled in with the subject of the currently opened page. For logged-in users, contact details are filled in automatically but can be removed if desired.

What kind of information is provided in the newsletter?

Newsletter subscribers receive e-mail notifications about news and the publication of new products.

How to subscribe to a newsletter?

The newsletter can be subscribed to by filling in the form on the home page. The information on unsubscribing from the newsletter can be found at the end of the newsletter.

What is the SLA agreement?

The SLA agreement or the agreement for the transmission of aeronautical information has been established between the Data Originator, Estonian Air Navigation Services (Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS) and Estonian Transport Administration. In the agreement, the conditions for the transmission of aeronautical information have been agreed on.

I have the right to transmit aeronautical information, but I cannot access the proposal.

You can consult your institution’s SLA contractual contact person, who can add your contact details and appropriate authorisation to SLA authorised persons’ database on the AIM homepage. A user account is then created and the right to access is granted to the proposals.

I have an AIM homepage user account and a right to transmit aeronautical information, but my proposal has been rejected on the ground that I do not have a right to transmit the information.

You can consult your institution’s SLA contractual contact person, who can check if they have sent the SLA appendix B3 amendment to other SLA contractual parties after creating your user account. The authorisation for aeronautical information transmittal becomes effective after sending SLA appendix B3, as this is when AIM specialists and Estonian Transport Administration are informed about the change in authorised persons’ list.
